Happy Beginnings to the late Twenties

Jared has official reach his late Twenties! So if you were officially starting off your late twenties how would you start your day? Well if you are Jared you do so by sleeping on a pillow that says Happy Birthday with Mickey on it of course! Then at 5:30am your wife's Grandma calls and wakes you up, but you don't answer the phone because 5:30am IS TOO EARLY TO TALK ON THE PHONE! (unless it is an emergency or prearranged). Oh then after getting up for real because your daughter is awake you learn that the hot water is broken most likely because of a frozen pipe.(Have I mentioned it is cold up here in Seattle?) Since no plumbers were open at 7am, and who wants to take a cold shower on their birthday, Jared opened his birthday gifts . Jared got lots of cool things! Yay for presents!!! After calling a few plumbers and being told they were all booked until Thursday at the earliest, one of them gave him good advice to use a blow drier to unfreeze the frozen pipe and TADA hot water once again works. (Thanks for fixing our hot water Jared!)

Then after having a hot shower since the hot water is fixed your family obviously takes you to work since you missed the buses that were running. At work you share yummy chocolate chocolate chip cookies your wife made you with your coworkers because it is your birthday! After a day of work and getting paged right when it is time to leave normally (since Jared is on call on his birthday) you have to take the late bus home. But luckily that was a good thing because your wife texts you that we have no spaghetti sauce for the parmesan chicken dinner that is planned. So Jared runs to Uwajimaya to see if they have marinara sauce and much to both of our surprise since it is an Asian market they did! Hooray! After making it home and putting Lenna to bed we all ate dinner with Mallory's college roommate Megan (so fun to see Megan)! Then Jared helps Megan re-secure her load on her truck and after dishes are clean we settled down to watch Star Trek the Movie. Something that Jared has been looking forward to since May when the movie came out. That my friends is how Jared spent his first day in his late twenties.

Earlier this week we celebrated his birthday with some friends. He wanted a yellow cake with chocolate frosting. I wanted to make him a light saber, but it really just turned into looking like a sword.
Don't worry we didn't forget about Lenna. Here is a video of her eating chocolate from her advent calendar. We let her have some of it because she managed to get the chocolate out on her own.

Happy Birthday Jared! We love you!
