One Leg Back One leg foward...

Wow what a wet week for us up here. Yes I know you are thinking to yourself, but Mallory you live in Seattle the place that is known for rain. Let me clarify something about the Seattle "ite" life. We do get rain, we get lots of gray skies, but our rain is called mist. We hardly ever get a down pour or weather that requires an umbrella. Frankly if you use an umbrella a lot here you are considered a tourist. Anyway we bought a rain gauge 3 weeks ago on sale at Lowe's because I thought it was cute. Well our rain gauge since Monday has gone from below 3 inches to above 5. That is more than 2 inches this week. That is too much wet and rain for me! Hopefully normal weather will resume soon which means still rain just not in as large of quantities.

Lenna is sure growing up fast. She looks older to me every day. I was scanning her baby book last night to make sure I didn't miss filling something in during the last month and I was amazed at how different she looked even a month or two ago. Personally it is probably the hair since it has gotten so long it no longer stands up. Yet it could be that she is definitely more aware of what is going on around her and is enjoying playing games like peek-a-boo, or getting tickled. Nonetheless she is growing up. She now most often wears bows directly in her hair since she is less likely to pull them out and play with them. She has gotten good at taking her head bands off.She is learning to be more stable standing against the couch, but she still prefers to sit.
She is easily distracted so it is hard to get a picture of her looking at the camera.
Last night she had a very late nap so we took the opportunity to go to out dinner. Lenna enjoyed looking at the other kids who had balloons and playing with the kids menu and the drink coasters. Lenna is fascinated with paper right now. She will wiggle and squirm as fast as she can to get to any paper that is in reach. We went to target the other day and I think I told Lenna 20+ times "No this is mommy's list; we can't eat mommy's list." Not that she understands me she just wanted to chew and eat the paper. Hopefully she actually doesn't eat too much of it, but if she does oh well extra fiber right?
See once again too distracted to look at the camera.
The best thing this week has been watching Lenna try and figure out how to get up on her hands and knees. She isn't good at it at all. Actually she can only get one leg back the other leg remains like she was sitting. But below is a classic example of what Lenna has been doing over and over for the last few days. The funniest part of this video for me is when she starts to kind of cry. I think it is funny because obviously doing the splits doesn't feel super great even when you are as flexible as Lenna is.

Happy Saturday!

Mallory, will you help me know how to put a bow in Lauren's hair? She needs a total makeover! ;-) Also, when my kids have been totally fascinated with paper I've gone to the post office and got one of their envelopes that's like paper, but it's not. Anyway, it crinkles but it doesn't get wet, so they can eat it.

Such a sweet smile at the end of the video! She is so close to crawling. She'll be cruising in no time!
