Blue Angels and Hippos

Last weekend felt like a true Seattle summer. The massive heat wave had left Seattle and we enjoyed normal summer temperatures of the mid to high 70s with lots of sun. Jared took a half day off of work on Friday and we headed to Seafair as a family. We both had never been and Friday admission is free so we decided why not. Lenna was a great sport. I don't think she really liked the loudness of the airplanes, but overall she had people to look at and she loves that! By like an hour into our adventure though Lenna was tired and fell asleep in her car seat.

At Seafair we watched the blue angels practice which was really cool! I even saw a bunch of girls dragging little hydroplanes with them. Way awesome! In case you are unfamiliar with Seafair it is a weekend where there are air shows by the blue angels, and hydroplane races on lake Washington.

Random trivia they always do this fair the first weekend of august because it is said to be the weekend that is least likely to rain (in Seattle) from the farmers Almanac.

After the blue angels finished we ate elephant ears! Yummy I love elephant ears!!! And then we met up with my friend David from college. By the end of the afternoon I was pretty tired from the long walk to the park and the sunburn which I managed to acquire while we were out in the sun.The next day after SeaFair Jared and I decided to head to the zoo. We have a zoo membership so we go often. It is nice to just go for a few hours here and there. This day the hippos were out which I love to watch the hippos. Lenna seemed to have a good time at the zoo too. She loves it when we put her in the Bjorn...I don't think she likes her floppy hat but I don't want to rub sunscreen in her hair.
In the flamingo picture there was one swan in the exhibit and I couldn't help singing "One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong."
On Sunday she was wearing yellow and grandma princess made her a yellow bow that happened matched her dress. I will be honest I love dressing up Lenna to look really fluffy foo foo! She puts up with the bows for now...we will see what she does when she gets older and can take things off her head.In other news my Sunflowers are getting even larger then a week ago! I think one is almost as tall as me. I think I will have Jared take my picture with it.

On Monday we went on a walk with our friends Melinda and Joel. It was so cute while in the car together Joel grabbed Lenna's hand. I tried to take a picture but I was too slow. In all honesty I am pretty sure that Joel was just poking at Lenna but it looked way cute. We went to Magnuson park on Lake Washington. I love this park. I use to go there all the time since I lived near there in college. The reason I love it is because it is right on the water and has a view of Mt. Rainer which makes it is simply beautiful. It makes me love Seattle summers so much!

Other than that I am staying busy trying to get random projects completed around the house and trying to keep up with laundry. Happy Hump day!

Love her big hairbows. If she's like El, she will probably start pulling them off her head around 7-9 months. It's a sad day when they have no hair at all.
